08091730 Comanche Creek Reservoir near Glen Rose, TX
LOCATION - Lat 32°18'00", long 97°47'12" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, Somervell County, TX, Hydrologic Unit 12060202, on upstream side of intake structure near powerhouse on Comanche Creek, 1.8 mi upstream from dam, 3.9 mi north of Glen Rose, and 6.1 mi upstream from mouth.
DRAINAGE AREA - 64 mi².

PERIOD OF RECORD - Feb. 1977 to Sept. 2002 (contents), Oct. 2002 to current year. PERIOD OF RECORD, Water-Quality.-- CHEMICAL DATA: Sept. 1983, July 1984. Prior to Oct. 2022, published as "Sq_ _ _ Creek Reservoir near Glen Rose, TX".  
GAGE - Water-stage recorder. Datum of gage is 0 ft above NGVD of 1929 and 0.35 ft below NAVD of 1988. Prior to Oct. 29, 1979, recording gage located on outlet tower of dam. Satellite telemeter at station.
REMARKS - Some records listed in the "Period of Record" for surface water and water quality may not be available electronically. The reservoir is formed by a rolled earthfill dam 4,360 ft long. Deliberate impoundment began in Feb. 1977, and the dam was completed in June 1977. The flood-control outlet works consist of an ungated 100 ft long concrete ogee spillway located at right end of dam. The low-flow outlet works consist of a concrete outlet tower with three 4 by 6 ft slide gates and one 6 by 6 ft slide gate, which feed into a 6 ft inside diameter concrete conduit that extends through the dam. The dam is owned by Texas Utilities Services, Inc. Water can be diverted by pipeline from Lake Granbury (station 08090900) into this reservoir. Data regarding the dam are given in the following table:
