LOCATION - Lat 37°22'23.34", long 80°23'47.99" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, Craig County, VA, Hydrologic Unit 05050002, 2.1 mi southwest of Simmonsville, 0.75 mi northwest of intersection of State Highways 42 and 662.
GROUNDWATER RECORDS
WELL CHARACTERISTICS - Depth 152 ft. Upper casing diameter 6.63 in; top of first opening 134 ft, bottom of last opening 152 ft.
DATUM - Land-surface datum is 2,296 ft above North American Vertical Datum of 1988. Measuring point: TOP OF CASING, 0.75 ft above land-surface datum, Jan. 29, 2009 to present.
PERIOD OF RECORD - January 2009 to current year.
GAGE - Electronic data logger and pressure transducer, 15-minute record interval. Prior to Mar. 30, 2010, occasional measurement with chalked tape by Virginia Department of Environmental Quality - Water Division personnel.
COOPERATION - Records provided by the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality - Water Division.
REMARKS - Well is located in Knox Group of Upper Cambrian to Middle Ordovician age.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Highest water level recorded, 31.05 ft below land-surface datum, Mar. 6, 2011; lowest recorded, 44.23 ft below land-surface datum, Nov. 29, 2010.
