Revisions: Land-surface datum was updated to 975.92 ft NAVD88 on May 22, 2023, as determined by a GNSS survey by Missouri DNR. Land-surface datum was previously published as 975 ft NGVD29 from a topographic map. Discrete water-level measurements prior to May 22, 2023, are referenced to the original datum.

DATUM - Land-surface datum is 975.92 ft above North American Vertical Datum of 1988. Measuring point: unknown, 2.3 ft above land-surface datum, Apr. 1, 1954 to present.  
PERIOD OF RECORD - June 18, 1968 to present
GAGE - From June 18, 1968 to September 30, 1997, the water level recording device was an A-35 strip chart. April 13, 2001 to present; the water level recording device is a DCP with telemetry capability. The water level measuring device is a float and encoder.
COOPERATION - Data furnished by Missouri Department of Natural Resources (MDNR); Record from June 18, 1968 to April 13, 2001 furnished from MDNR. Record from April 13, 2001 to present processed by USGS and MDNR.
REMARKS - Historic record from June 18, 1968 to Sept. 30, 1997 is considered fair because there is no field data to verify the data. Data from April 13, 2001 to September 30, 2008 has been processed by the USGS with limited water level measurements (8 measurements) during the period. This record is considered good and accurate to +/- 0.25 ft. Data from October 1, 2008 to September 30, 2009 is good based on 4 water level measurements made during the period to verify the recorded data and is accurate to +/- 0.05 ft. Data from 09/30/2009 to 08/08/2010 is good based on 5 water level measurements made during the period to verify the recorded data and is accurate to +/- 0.1 ft. Data from 07/05/2011 to 06/05/2012 is good based on 4 water level measurements made during the period to verify the recorded data and is accurate to +/- 0.05 ft. Data from 06/06/2012 to 10/08/2013 is good based on 5 water level measurements made during the period to verify the recorded data and is accurate to +/- 0.05 ft.
