LOCATION - Lat 37°57'49.1", long 91°47'50.6" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, in NW 1/4 NE 1/4 NW 1/4 sec.03, T.37 N., R.8 W., Phelps County, MO, Hydrologic Unit 10290203,

REVISIONS HISTORY - Revisions: Land-surface datum was updated to 1,1194.02 ft NAVD88 on May 22, 2023, as determined by a GNSS survey by Missouri DNR. Land-surface datum was previously published as 1,192 ft NAVD88 from topographic map. Discrete water-level measurements prior to May 22, 2023, are referenced to the original datum.

GROUNDWATER RECORDS

DATUM - Land-surface datum is 1,194.02 ft above North American Vertical Datum of 1988. Measuring point: unknown, 2.0 ft above land-surface datum, Nov. 5, 1951 to present.  

PERIOD OF RECORD - April 22, 1987 to present. However data previous to March 13, 1989 was not used because of equipment problems.

GAGE - Stevens model 7001 digital recorder installed September 8, 1980, however data previous to March 13, 1989 was not used because of equipment problems. Stevens A-35 strip chart installed August 12, 1992. December 10, 1999 to present; DCP with float, encoder, and telemetry capability was installed as the water level recording device.

COOPERATION - Data furnished by Missouri Department of Natural Resources (MDNR); except for the period from 10/01/1989 to 08/11/1992 when the USGS furnished the data and the record. Record from October 1, 1988 to December 10, 1999 furnished from MDNR (except for WY 1990-1992). Record from December 10, 1999 to present was processed by the MDNR and USGS.

REMARKS - Record prior to March 14, 1989 was not used because of frequent equipment problems (frequent float hanging up in well). Record from March 14, 1989 to Sept 30, 1992 rated good based on 35 water level measurements that were available and are within 0.5 ft of the daily value measurement. Record from October 1, 1992 to December 9, 1999 is rated fair because no water level measurements were available to verify the record. This data has been archived by Missouri Department of Natural Resources (MDNR) and is not available for verification. Data from December 10, 1999 to October 23, 2009 is rated good based on 34 water level measurements made during this period to verify recorded water levels. The record from October 23, 2009 to September 27, 2010 is good based on 5 water level measurements made during the period to verify the recorded data and is accurate to +/- 0.05 ft. The record from 09/27/2010 to 08/24/2011 is good based on 3 water level measurements made during the period to verify the recorded data and is accurate to +/- 0.10 ft. The record from 08/24/2011 to 09/26/2012 is good based on 4 water level measurements made during the period to verify the recorded data and is accurate to +/- 0.10 ft. The record from 09/27/2012 to 09/04/2013 is good based on 2 water level measurements made during the period to verify the recorded data and is accurate to +/- 0.10 ft. The record from 09/05/2013 to 11/18/2014 is good based on 3 water level measurements made during the period to verify the recorded data and is accurate to +/- 0.10 ft. The record from 11/19/2014 to 03/20/2016 is good based on 4 water level measurements made during the period to verify the recorded data and is accurate to +/- 0.10 ft. The record from 03/21/2016 to 09/27/2016 is good based on 2 water level measurements made during the period to verify the recorded data and is accurate to +/- 0.10 ft. The record from 09/28/2017 to 04/18/2017 is good based on 1 water level measurement made during the period to verify the recorded data and is accurate to +/- 0.10 ft. The record from 04/19/2017 to 02/14/2018 is good based on 1 water level measurement made during the period to verify the recorded data and is accurate to +/- 0.05 ft. The record from 02/15/2018 to 05/29/2018 is good based on 1 water level measurement made during the period to verify the recorded data and is accurate to +/- 0.10 ft. The record from 05/30/2018 to 12/18/2018 is good based on 1 water level measurement made during the period to verify the recorded data and is accurate to +/- 0.05 ft. The record from 12/19/2018 to 02/25/2019 is good based on 1 water level measurement made during the period to verify the recorded data and is accurate to +/- 0.05 ft. The record from 02/26/2019 to 01/01/2020 is good based on 1 water level measurement made during the period to verify the recorded data and is accurate to +/- 0.15 ft.
