LOCATION - Lat 44°02'13", long 70°20'32" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, Androscoggin County, ME, Hydrologic Unit 01040002, about 0.5 mi northeast of Poland Spring. Owner: U.S. Geological Survey.
GROUNDWATER RECORDS
WELL CHARACTERISTICS - Depth 290 ft. Upper casing diameter 6 in; top of first opening 105 ft, bottom of last opening 290 ft. Drilled observation well, cased to bedrock.
DATUM - Land-surface datum is 307.51 ft above North American Vertical Datum of 1988. Measuring point: Chisel mark on top of steel casing, 2.70 ft above land-surface datum, Jan. 23, 2001 to present. Land-surface datum is at the general land surface.
PERIOD OF RECORD - January 2001 to current year.
GAGE - Electronic water-level recorder.
REMARKS - Water levels affected by earth tides. Gaps in record indicate missing data. Aquifer: Bedrock of Devonian age.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Highest daily water level, 8.02 ft below land-surface datum, Apr. 29, 2005; lowest daily water level, 11.67 ft below land-surface datum, Sept. 29, 2016 and Oct. 4, 7, 20, 2016.
