LOCATION - Lat 61°17'26", long 149°35'39" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, in SW 1/4 SW 1/4 NW 1/4 sec.23, T.14 N., R.2 W., Municipality of Anchorage, AK, Hydrologic Unit 19020401, (Anchorage B-7 quad) at Anchorage Regional Landfill, Glenn Highway and Hiland Road interchange, about 12 mi north of Anchorage.
GROUNDWATER RECORDS
WELL CHARACTERISTICS - Depth 132 ft. Upper casing diameter 6 in; top of first opening 111 ft, bottom of last opening 132 ft. Observation well drilled by Municipality of Anchorage, designated as KB-6. Well is cased to 118 ft, gage datum, open end. Casing perforated from 111 ft to 117 ft. Bedrock from 117 ft. Driller's log notes casing break at 80 ft bl LSD. Last well depth sounding on November 01, 2019 using 200 ft weighted engineer tape measured depth of well at 129.65 ft, gage datum.
DATUM - Land-surface datum is 542.56 ft above National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929. Measuring point: Top of casing, 3.4 ft above land-surface datum, Jul. 26, 2001 to present.
PERIOD OF RECORD - August 1986, July 1997 to current year.
GAGE - Monthly measurements with chalked steel tape by U.S. Geological Survey personnel July 1997 to September 1999, electronic data logger from September 3, 1999 to November 13, 2007, data collection platform with GOES telemetry from November 14, 2007 to present.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Highest water-level recorded, 107.25 ft below land-surface datum, May, 26, 2012; lowest water-level recorded, 114.25 ft below land-surface datum, August 21, 1986.
