How to access historical streamflow data in your watershed

 

Start at a Web page for a station in your watershed (How do I find a station in my watershed?)

Step 1

arrowChoose Recent daily under Available data for this site.

You will get a graph like the one below, which shows 31 days of daily mean streamflow values (average streamflow for each day) at this station on the Little River in Tennessee:

Step 2

arrowFor more data, delete the default value 31 days and enter a number up to 548.


Step 3

arrowFor another perspective, choose Surface-water: Peak Streamflow under Available data for this site.

You will get a graph like the one below, which shows the highest streamflow for each year of the period of record at the station.

Step 4

arrowFor another way to look at streamflow data over the long term, choose Surface-water: Annual streamflow statistics under Available data for this site.

You will get a table like the one below, which lists the mean (average) streamflow for each year of the period of record at this station in Virginia.

arrowTo explore more historical data, choose from options under Available data for this site.
