LOCATION - Lat 38°29'33", long 120°17'21" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, in NE 1/4 NW 1/4 sec.02, T.7 N., R.15 E., Amador County, CA, Hydrologic Unit 18040012, in Eldorado National Forest, on right bank, 200 ft downstream from diversion dam on Bear River and highway bridge, 1.4 mi upstream from mouth, and 3.5 mi northwest of Salt Springs Dam.
DRAINAGE AREA - 47.8 mi².

GAGE - Water-stage recorder and concrete control. Elevation of gage is 3,710 ft above NGVD of 1929, from topographic map. Prior to Dec. 8, 1987, nonrecording gage, and Dec. 8, 1987, to Sept. 26, 2002, recording gage at site 300 ft upstream at different datum.
