LOCATION - Lat 39°02'57", long 120°28'56" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, in SW 1/4 NW 1/4 sec.24, T.14 N., R.13 E., Placer County, CA, Hydrologic Unit 18020128, in Eldorado National Forest, on right bank, 26 ft below diversion dam, 0.4 mi downstream from unnamed tributary, 3.2 mi upstream from confluence of North and South Forks Long Canyon Creek, and 16.9 mi east of Volcanoville.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - October 1988 to current year. Prior to October 2009, published as North Fork Long Canyon Creek below Diversion Dam.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder. Elevation of gage is 4,700 ft above NGVD of 1929, from topographic map.
COOPERATION - Records provided by Placer County Water Agency, under general supervision of the U.S. Geological Survey, in connection with Federal Energy Regulatory Commission project no. 2079.
REMARKS - Discharge is computed only during periods of operation of North Fork Long Canyon Creek Diversion Tunnel (station 11433080). See schematic diagram of Middle Fork American and Rubicon River Basins available from the California Water Science Center. There is no discharge computed for the 2015, 2018, and 2023 water years since there were no periods of diversion at the North Fork Long Canyon Creek Diversion Tunnel (station 11433080) during the 2015, 2018, and 2023 water years.
