LOCATION.--Lat 39°42'24.8", long 75°41'42.3", referenced to North American Datum of 1983, New Castle County, DE, Hydrologic Unit 02040205, on left
bank, downstream of highway bridge on Upper Pike Creek Road, 2.7 mi northeast of Newark, and 0.8 mi upsteam from mouth.
DRAINAGE AREA.--5.89 mi2.
PERIOD OF RECORD.--Annual maximum, water years 1969-75. October 2019 to current year.
GAGE.--Water-stage recorder and crest-stage gage. Datum of gage is 49 ft above North American Vertical Datum of 1988. November 1968 to September
1975, non-recording gage at site 0.35 mi downstream, on right upstream wingwall of bridge on State Highway 2, at datum 30.96 ft above National Geodetic
Vertical Datum of 1929.
REMARKS.--U.S. Geological Survey satellite data-collection platform at station.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD.--Maximum discharge, 2,550 ft3/s, July 28, 1969, gage height, 9.15 ft, at site and datum then in use.
COOPERATION.--Funding for the operation of this station is provided by the U.S. Geological Survey.
This station managed by the MD-DE-DC Water Science Center Dover office.
