LOCATION.-- Lat 39°23'38.0", long 79°10'54.1", Garrett County, MD, Hydrologic Unit 02070002,
   on left bank 0.6 mi downstream from bridge on State Highway 38 in Kitzmiller, 1.5 mi downstream
   from Wolfden Run, and at mile 68.9.
DRAINAGE AREA.--225 mi2
PERIOD OF RECORD.--October 1949 to September 1985, October 1985 to September 2003 
   (operated as a crest-stage partial-record station only), October 2003 to current year.
GAGE.--Water-stage recorder and crest-stage gage.  Datum of gage is 1,571.75 ft above North 
   American Vertical Datum of 1988.  Prior to Oct. 15, 1954, at site 0.3 mi upstream at gage datum 7.58 ft higher.
   Oct. 15, 1954, to Nov. 20, 1955, nonrecording gage at bridge 0.5 mi upstream at gage datum 21.51 ft higher.
REMARKS.--Flow regulated by Stony River Reservoir, 30.0 mi upstream from station until use of 
   reservoir discontinued June 1987 (see station 01595200). Regulation since 1963 by Virginia Electric and 
   Power Company dam (Mount Storm Lake), 20.0 mi upstream from station. U.S. Army Corps of Engineers satellite 
   data-collection platform at station.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD.--Maximum discharge, 50,400 ft3/s, Nov. 5, 1985, gage height, 14.85 ft; minimum
   discharge, 4.6 ft3/s, Oct. 3, 1953.
COOPERATION.--Funding for the operation of this station is provided by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
