NOTICE (07/01/2020) -- Stream stage, discharge, and water quality data collection at this streamgage were discontinued on July 1, 2020 due to lack of funding.
Although historic data will remain accessible, no new data will be collected unless one or more new funding partners are found.
Potential funding partners or general questions concerning continuance of operations may contact Chuck Walker (cwwalker@usgs.gov;443-498-5523).


LOCATION.--Lat 39°20'15.4", long 77°37'35.3", Frederick County, MD, Hydrologic Unit 02070008, on right bank 0.85 mi upstream of MD Highway 79 and 0.6 mi
northwest of Rosemont.
DRAINAGE AREA.--4.55 mi2, from automated delineation using 30-meter National Elevation Dataset, digital elevation model data, dated December 2011.
PERIOD OF RECORD.--October 2016 to current year.
GAGE.--Water-stage recorder, water quality monitor, crest-stage gage and velocity meter. Datum of gage is 395.79 ft above North American Vertical Datum of 1988.
REMARKS.--U.S. Geological Survey water-data telemeter at station.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD.--Maximum discharge, 9,630 ft3/s, May 15, 2018, gage height, 12.11 ft; minimum discharge, 0.33 ft3/s, result of stream restoration
work upstream from station.
COOPERATION.--Funding for the operation of this station is provided by the Maryland State Highway Administration and the U.S. Geological Survey.
This station managed by the MD-DE-DC Water Science Center Baltimore office.
