SURFACE-WATER RECORDS

LOCATION.--Lat 40°34'30", long 74°36'57" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, Somerville Borough, Somerset County, NJ, Hydrologic Unit 02030105, on the right bank on the downstream side of the bridge on Mercer Street in Somerville, 0.4 mi downstream from Macs Brook and 0.6 mi upstream from Ross Brook.
DRAINAGE AREA.--7.37 mi2.
PERIOD OF RECORD.--Annual maximum, water years 1991 to May 2011, March 2012 to current year. Occasional low-flow measurements, water years 2002 to current year.
GAGE.--Water-stage and precipitation recorder with telemetry and crest-stage gage. Datum of gage is 42.50 ft above NGVD of 1929.
REMARKS.--Annual peak data can be obtained by selecting Peak streamflow from the 'Available data for this site' drop-down menu above or by using this link.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD.--Maximum gage height, 13.97 ft, Sep 16, 1999.
