LOCATION.--Lat 39°41'21.2", long 75°44'55.5", New Castle County, DE, Hydrologic Unit 02040205,
   on right bank 200 ft upstream from highway bridge on Paper Mill Road, at Newark, and 10.3 mi upstream 
   from mouth.
DRAINAGE AREA.--69.0 mi2.
PERIOD OF RECORD.--March 1994 to current year.
GAGE.--Water-stage recorder and crest-stage gage. Datum of gage is 55.31 ft above North American Vertical
   Datum of 1988.
REMARKS.--Flow affected by the City of Newark municipal water treatment plant upstream from the station, 
   and by periodic withdrawals to maintain storage in the City of Newark's pumped storage reservoir.  
   U.S. Geological Survey satellite data-collection platform at station.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD.--Maximum discharge, 16,800 ft3/s, Sep. 16, 1999, gage height, 17.13 ft;
   minimum discharge, 2.6 ft3/s, Sept. 13, 1995.
COOPERATION.--Funding for the operation of this station is provided by the Delaware Geological Survey 
   and the City of Newark, Delaware.
CRITICAL LEVELS.--Action stage, 10.0 ft; Flood stage, 11.5 ft; information provided by the
   National Weather Service.
