LOCATION - Lat 45°11'04", long 69°27'08" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, Piscataquis County, ME, Hydrologic Unit 01020004, on left bank 200 ft upstream from State Route 15/16 highway bridge in Abbot Village, and 0.9 mi upstream from mouth.
DRAINAGE AREA - 95.4 mi².
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - DISCHARGE: July 1996 to current year.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder and crest-stage gage. Datum of gage is 423.00 ft above National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929.
REMARKS - Low flow may be regulated by operation of Kingsbury Pond Dam above station.

  • Water Year 2017: Records good, except for period of ice effect, Dec. 7 to Apr. 10, and period of no gage-height record, Feb. 2, which are poor.
  • Water Year 2016: Records good, except for periods of ice effect, Nov. 22-26, Nov. 29 to Dec. 2, Dec. 19-21, Dec. 27 to Mar. 28, Apr. 2-7, periods of no gage-height record, Jan. 1-2, 22-24, Feb. 20-22, 24-26 and Mar. 15-16, which are poor.
