01037380 DUCKTRAP RIVER NEAR LINCOLNVILLE, ME

LOCATION - Lat 44°19'45", long 69°03'39" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, Waldo County, ME, Hydrologic Unit 01050002, on left bank on downstream side of State Route 52 highway bridge at Lincolnville, and 1.3 mi upstream of Black Brook.

DRAINAGE AREA - 14.4 mi².

SURFACE-WATER RECORDS

PERIOD OF RECORD - DISCHARGE: June 1998 to current year.

GAGE - Water-stage recorder and crest-stage gage. Elevation of gage is 135 ft above National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929, from topographic map.

REMARKS -

Water Year 2020: Records good, except for flows below 1 ft³/s, and estimated daily discharges, which are poor.

Water Year 2019: Records good, except for flows below 1 ft³/s, and estimated daily discharges, which are poor.

Water Year 2018: Records good, except for flows below 1 ft³/s, and estimated daily discharges, which are poor.

Water Year 2017: Records good, except for flows between 6 ft³/s and 10 ft³/s, which are fair, flows below 6 ft³/s, periods of ice effect, Dec. 10-24, 26, Jan. 7-11, 13-17, Jan. 31 to Feb. 25, Mar. 4-5, 9-29, periods of doubtful stage-discharge relation, Oct. 10-21, Sept. 4-6, 18-30 and periods of no gage-height record, Feb. 8-20, Sept. 5, which are poor.

Water Year 2016: Records good, except for flows between 6 ft³/s and 10 ft³/s, which are fair, flows below 6 ft³/s, and periods of ice effect, Jan. 4-8, 14-15, 18-22, Feb. 5-17, which are poor.

Water Year 2015: Records good, except for flows between 6 ft³/s and 10 ft³/s, which are fair, flows below 6 ft³/s, periods of ice effect, Nov. 19-22, Nov. 29, Dec. 5, Dec. 8, Dec. 30 to Jan. 18, Jan. 21 to Mar. 6, and Mar. 8-28, which are poor.

Water Year 2014: Records good, except for flows between 6 ft³/s and 10 ft³/s, which are fair, flows below 6 ft³/s, periods of doubtful stage-discharge relation, Oct. 1-30, periods of ice effect, Nov. 25-26, Nov. 30, Dec. 3, Dec. 10 to Feb. 20, Feb. 26 to Mar. 1, Mar. 14, 17-19, and Mar. 25-28, which are poor.

EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge, 1,680 ft³/s, Apr. 7, 2009, gage height, 6.45 ft, from rating curve extended above 900 ft³/s; no flow Aug. 17 to Sept. 24, 2001.

WATER-QUALITY RECORDS

INSTRUMENTATION - In-situ thermistor located on left bank at downstream side of bridge and about 0.5 feet above river bed.
