LOCATION - Lat 43°59'27", long 71°05'26" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, Carroll County, NH, Hydrologic Unit 01060002, on left bank at Odell Falls, and 1.8 mi downstream from Swift River and Conway.

DRAINAGE AREA - 385 mi².

REVISIONS HISTORY - WSP 1301: 1908-09. WDR ME-81-1: Drainage area. WDR ME-87-1: 1936 (M), 1951 (M), 1953 (M), 1960 (M), 1977 (M).

SURFACE-WATER RECORDS

PERIOD OF RECORD - DISCHARGE: October 1903 to December 1909, February 1929 to current year. Monthly discharge only for some periods, published in WSP 1301. Prior to 1912 published as "at Center Conway". GAGE HEIGHT: August to September 1903, January 1910 to June 1912.

GAGE - Water-stage recorder and crest-stage gage. Datum of gage is 418.19 ft above National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929. Aug. 26, 1903 to June 30, 1912, nonrecording gage at site 0.8 mi downstream at different datum.

Water Year 2016: Records good, except for periods of ice effect, Dec. 29 to Jan. 10, Jan. 12 to Feb. 1, Feb. 7-24 and Feb. 27 to Mar. 8, which are fair.

Water Year 2015: Records good, except for periods of ice effect, Nov. 20-23, Dec. 6-9, and Dec. 30 to Apr. 2, which are fair.

Water Year 2014: Records good, except for periods of ice effect, Nov. 25, Dec. 10-15, Dec. 25 to Jan. 12, and Jan. 17 to Mar. 28, and period of doubtful gage-height record, May 27, which are fair.

EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge, 58,200 ft³/s, from rating curve extended above 28,000 ft³/s, August 29, 2011, gage height, 17.23 ft, estimated from flood mark; maximum gage height, 19.03 ft, Mar. 7, 1979 (backwater from ice); minimum discharge, 40 ft³/s, Mar. 16, 1932, gage height, 1.61 ft.
