LOCATION - Lat 43°26'30", long 71°35'17" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, Belknap County, NH, Hydrologic Unit 01070002, on right bank, 150 ft upstream of Bridge/School Street bridge, 300 ft south of Town Hall in Tilton, and 0.3 mi upstream from Packer Brook.
DRAINAGE AREA - 471 mi².
REVISIONS HISTORY - WSP 1901: 1960.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - Discharge records: January 1937 to current year. Water-quality discrete samples: Water years 1953, 1975 to 1978, 1980 to 1999.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder. Datum of gage is 441.40 ft above North American Vertical Datum of 1988.
COOPERATION - New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services and USGS Groundwater and Streamflow Information Program.
REMARKS - WATER YEARS 2014-24: Records good except those for estimated discharges, which are fair. Flow regulated by power plants prior to 1967 and by Winnipesaukee (station 01080000), Winnisquam 4.5 mi upstream, Wentworth, Merrymeeting, and other lakes upstream.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge, 4,580 ft³/s, May 31, 1984, gage height 8.68 ft.
