LOCATION - Lat 42°40'17", long 71°08'59" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, Essex County, MA, Hydrologic Unit 01070006, Located about 70 feet back from the right bank of the Shawsheen River and about 160 feet upsteam of Balmoral Street Bridge over the Shawsheen River in Andover.
DRAINAGE AREA - 72.8 mi².
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - October 2006 to June 2012. February 2013 to current year.
GAGE - Data Collection Platform with satellite telemeter. Datum of gage is 34.20 ft above NAVD 1988, estimated from topographic map. Datum previously reported as 35 ft above NGVD 1929, estimated from topographic map.
COOPERATION - Town of Andover.
REMARKS - Records fair except those for discharges greater than 500 cfs and less than 80 cfs and data from Oct 1 to Dec 15, 2015, and those for estimated daily discharges, which are poor. High flows are occasionally affected by backwater from the Merrimack River about 3.6 miles downstream.
