LOCATION - Lat 42°14'52", long 70°59'52" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, Norfolk County, MA, Hydrologic Unit 01090001, on left bank, 200 ft downstream from Miller Stile Road and 0.8 mi upstream from Town River Bay, at Quincy.
DRAINAGE AREA - 4.11 mi².
REVISIONS HISTORY - WDR MA-RI-81-1: 1975-80 (P). WDR MA-RI-84-1; WDR MA-RI-03-1: Drainage area.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - Discharge: Water years 1973-86; 1999 to current year. Prior to October 1974 published as Town River at Quincy. Water-quality records: May to August 1999, November 1999 to June 2000.
GAGE - Data Collection Platform with satellite telemeter. Datum of gage is 4.19 ft above NAVD 1988, estimated from topographic map. Prior to May 12, 2020, datum of gage reported as 5 ft above NGVD 1929, estimated from topographic map.
COOPERATION - Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation, Division of Planning and Engineering.
REMARKS - Records fair except those for estimated daily discharges and discharges greater than 50 ft³/s, which are poor. High flows affected by diversion at Town Brook diversion structure (station 01105584) located 100 ft upstream from Burgin Parkway. All flows affected by small cyclical discharges from sump pump at MBTA station located between diversion structure and Town Brook gage. Flows affected by infrequent backwater from high tides.

Maximum peak stage 7.40 ft, May 13, 1975 affected by backwater from downstream culvert.
