LOCATION - Lat 42°40'00.1", long 73°01'48.6" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, Berkshire County, MA, Hydrologic Unit 01080203, on right bank, 150 ft upstream from bridge on South County Road, at Florida, MA. Prior to March 15, 2016, on left bank, on downstream side of bridge on South County Road, at Florida, MA.
DRAINAGE AREA - 6.47 mi².
REVISIONS HISTORY - Specific conductivity record for the period Oct. 20, 2017, to Jan. 14, 2020, was revised on Jan. 25, 2023, as originally published data was not temperature corrected.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - DISCHARGE: November 2014 to current year.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder and crest-stage gage. Elevation of gage is 1,541 ft above North American Vertical Datum of 1988. Prior to March 15, 2016, water-stage recorder on left bank 150 ft downstream at same datum.
REMARKS -
  • Water Years 2017-22: Records good except those for estimated daily discharges, which are poor.
  • Water Year 2016: Records good, except for period of doubtful gage-height record, Mar. 28 to Sept. 29, which is fair, and periods of ice effect, Dec. 29-30, Jan. 4-10, Jan.12 to Feb. 15, Feb. 19 to Mar. 9, 19-20, Apr. 4-6, periods of no gage-height record, Mar. 15, 28-29, Apr. 7, 9-10, 13-17 and Sept. 24-29, which are poor.
  • Water Year 2015: Records good, except for flows between 1 ft³/s and 2 ft³/s, which are fair, and flows below 1 ft³/s, and periods of ice effect, Nov. 19-23, Nov. 29, Dec. 5, 20-21, and Dec. 30 to Jan. 17, which are poor.

  • The maximum historical peak flow of 1,110 ft³/s on Sept. 18, 2018 is based on a rating extended above 512 ft³/s.
    WATER-QUALITY RECORDS
