01409335 LITTLE EGG INLET NEAR TUCKERTON, NJ
LOCATION - Lat 39°30'32", long 74°19'29" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, Little Egg Harbor Twp, Ocean County, NJ, Hydrologic Unit 02040301, on west end of docking pier at Rutgers University Marine Field Station (old U.S. Coast Guard Station) along Shooting Thorofare, 2.0 mi west of Atlantic Ocean, 4.3 mi southwest of Holgate (Long Beach Island), and 6.6 mi southeast of Tuckerton.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - Continuous-record tide gage, water years 1971-1975 (published as "Shooting Thorofare near Tuckerton, NJ"), Jan 24, 2001 to current year. Unpublished fragmentary gage-height record, July 1997 to Jan 23, 2001.
GAGE - Tide elevation and water temperature recorder with telemetry and tidal crest-stage gage. Datum of gage is at 0.00 ft NAVD of 1988. To determine approximate elevations to NGVD of 1929, add 1.26 ft.
REMARKS - Periods of missing data are noted by dashed (---) lines.
EXTREMES OUTSIDE PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum elevation, 3.68 ft, Dec 11, 1992, adjusted to present datum, from high-water mark at Rand's boat rental dock 2.1 mi north of tide gage.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum elevation, 8.3 ft, Oct 29, 2012, from high water marks; minimum elevation, -4.38 ft, Mar 9, 2005, although a lower tide may have occurred during a period of partially missing record on Feb 17, 2007.
