01411435 SLUICE CREEK NEAR SOUTH DENNIS, NJ
LOCATION - Lat 39°09'42", long 74°49'56" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, Middle Township, Cape May County, NJ, Hydrologic Unit 02040206, on northwest side of bridge carrying State Route 47 over Sluice Creek, 1.2 mi southwest of South Dennis, 1.6 mi upstream from Dennis Creek, and 3.3 mi upstream from Delaware Bay.
DRAINAGE AREA - 9.37 mi².
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - Unpublished fragmentary gage-height record, April 1997 to February 2000. Continuous-record tide gage, March 2000 to current year.
GAGE - Tide elevation and water temperature recorder with telemetry and tidal crest-stage gage. Datum of gage is at 0.00 ft NAVD of 1988. Prior to December 10, 2021 gage was located on southwest side of bridge carrying State Route 47 over Sluice Creek at same datum. To determine approximate elevations to NGVD of 1929, add 1.27 ft.

EXTREMES OUTSIDE PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum elevation known, 6.6 ft, adjusted to present datum, Sep 27, 1985, from discontinued tidal crest-stage gage on Delaware Bay at Reeds Beach (01411409) 4.5 mi southwest of station.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum elevation, 6.01 ft, Oct 30, 2012; minimum elevation, -5.90 ft, Feb 26, 2012, although a lower tide likely occurred during period of partially missing record on Feb 17, 2007.
