01439500 BUSH KILL AT SHOEMAKERS, PA
LOCATION - Lat 41°05'17", long 75°02'17" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, Monroe County, PA, Hydrologic Unit 02040104, on right bank 30 ft downstream from bridge on township route 523, 0.1 mi downstream from Saw Creek, 0.7 mi northwest of Shoemakers, and 2.0 mi southwest of Bushkill.
DRAINAGE AREA - 117 mi².
REVISIONS HISTORY - WSP 756: Drainage area. WSP 1202: 1921, 1932(M), 1933, 1935-36, 1938(M), 1939-40, 1942, 1945, 1946(M), 1948(M). WSP 1302: 1909-15, 1920(M), 1922-29. WDR PA-89-1: 1988.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - October 1908 to current year. Monthly discharge only for some periods, published in WSP 1302. Prior to October 1928, published as Bushkill Creek near Shoemakers; October 1928 to September 1952, published as Bushkill Creek at Shoemakers.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder, crest-stage gage, and water-quality monitor. Datum of gage is 420.4 ft above North American Vertical Datum of 1988 from GNSS survey.   Sept. 19, 1908, to Aug. 12, 1938, non-recording gage, and Aug. 13, 1938, to June 20, 1956, water-stage recorder at site 50 ft upstream at same datum.  Prior to July 7, 2023, the datum of gage was reported as 421.13 ft above National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929.  Satellite telemetry at station.
COOPERATION - Station established and maintained by the U.S. Geological Survey. Funding for the operation of this station is provided by the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection and the U.S. Geological Survey.
REMARKS - Records are good except those for estimated discharge, which are poor. 
ECOLOGICAL RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - April 2002 to current year.
REMARKS - Samples were collected using rapid bioassessment protocols for benthic macroinvertebrates using a D-Frame net with a mesh size of 500 mm. Counts are based on a randomly-selected 100-organism (approximate) subsample.
WATER-QUALITY RECORDS

PERIOD OF DAILY RECORD - Water Temperature: November 2019 to current year. Specific Conductance: Nov 2019 to current year.
COOPERATION - Water-quality samples were collected as part of the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection Water-Quality Network (WQN) with cooperation from the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection.
REMARKS - Analyses for pH, water temperature, specific conductance, and dissolved oxygen were performed on site. All other sample analyses were performed at the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection laboratory in Harrisburg, Pa. Occasionally, values for filtered parameters may exceed values for the corresponding unfiltered parameter. These results are within the limits of analytical precision and methods.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF DAILY RECORD - WATER TEMPERATURE: Maximum,  27.9°C, Aug 8, 2022; minimum  -0.1°C, several days during winter. SPECIFIC CONDUCTANCE: Maximum, 392 microsiemens/cm, Feb 13 2020; minimum, 36 microsiemens/cm, Sep 2, 2021.
