REVISIONS HISTORY - WDR PA-72-1: 1971(M).
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - October 1966 to September 2005 and October 2018 to current year, (continuous-record gaging station), October 2005 to September 2018 (continuous-record, annual-peak gaging station).
GAGE - Water-stage recorder, crest-stage gage, and water-quality monitor. Datum of gage is 164.30 feet above National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929. Satellite telemetry at station.
COOPERATION - Station established and maintained by the U.S. Geological Survey. Funding for the operation of this station is provided by the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection and U.S. Geological Survey.
REMARKS -

Flow regulated by Francis E. Walter Reservoir (station 01447780), Penn Forest Reservoir (station 01449400), Wild Creek Reservoir (station 01449700), and since February 1971, by Beltzville Lake (station 01449790) about 60 mi upstream. In 2016 water year, the canal was reactivated and gate adjustments by Hugh Moore Park can be seen throughout the year. Recorded peak discharge for water year 2014-2018 are rated good. Flows below 1,000 cfs are poor. Record for water years 2019-2021 are rated good except flows less than 1000cfs and estimated discharge, which is poor. Record for water year 2022 is rated fair except flows less than 1500cfs and estimated discharge, which is poor.

EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Discharge, 60,600 ft³/s (gage height 24.86 ft), Jun 23, 1972, gage height, 27.93 ft (from floodmark; backwater from Delaware River), Jun 28, 2006.
WATER-QUALITY RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - November 1956 to current year.
PERIOD OF DAILY RECORD - SPECIFIC CONDUCTANCE: July 2010 to current year. pH: July 2010 to current year. WATER TEMPERATURE: July 2010 to current year. DISSOLVED OXYGEN: July 2010 to current year.
COOPERATION - Water-quality samples were collected as part of the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection Water-Quality Network (WQN) with cooperation from the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection. Funding for the operation of the continuous water-quality monitor is provided by the Delaware River Basin Commission.
INSTRUMENTATION - Water-quality monitor interfaced with a data collection platform at 15-minute recording interval. Monitor is deployed along streamward side of right upstream bridge wall at entrance to Hugh Moore Parkway at Glendon.
REMARKS - As of October 2013, results from discrete water quality samples collected at this site are available through the U.S. Geological Survey National Water Information System web interface on the "Water Quality for the Nation" webpage. Water-quality sampling analyses for pH, water temperature, specific conductance, and dissolved oxygen were performed on site. All other sample analyses were performed at the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection laboratory in Harrisburg, PA. Occasionally, values for filtered parameters may exceed values for the corresponding unfiltered parameter. These results are within the limits of analytical precision and methods. Continuous data collection suspended during winter months. Other interruptions in the record were due to malfunctions of the water-quality sensors or recording instrument. Cross-sectional water quality data is available upon request. Records of water year 2014: Water temperature records are good except for period Oct 25-31, Nov 11-15 and 18-19 which are poor.
