01460500 DELAWARE AND RARITAN CANAL AT KINGSTON, NJ
LOCATION - Lat 40°22'25", long 74°37'06" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, South Brunswick Twp, Middlesex County, NJ, Hydrologic Unit 02030105, at canal lock in Kingston, near dam at Carnegie Lake, 160 ft upstream from bridge on State Route 27.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - Continuous-record discharge station, water years 1961-91. Miscellaneous measurements, water years 1997, 2002-03, 2005-07, 2009, 2011. Continuous-record gage-height station, water years 2016 to current, upstream of weir and water years 2018 to current, downstream of weir.
GAGE - Water-stage recorders with telemetry upstream and downstream of concrete weir. Datum of gage is at NAVD 1988. Prior to April 15, 2019, upstream of weir published as gage height at datum 40 ft above NGVD 1929. To convert from NAVD 1988 to NGVD 1929 add 0.98 ft.
REMARKS - The canal diverts water from the Delaware River at Raven Rock and discharges into Raritan River at New Brunswick. Some water may be released to the Millstone River 500 ft and 2.3 mi above station.
