LOCATION - Lat 40°31'31", long 75°52'31" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, Berks County, PA, Hydrologic Unit 02040203, immediately downstream of confluence with Sacony Creek, at downstream right side of Ontelaunee Trail bridge (SR143) at west end of Virginville.
DRAINAGE AREA - 157 mi². Records include flow from Sacony Creek.
REVISIONS HISTORY - Prior to November 8, 2022, the datum of gage was reported as 440 ft above National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - March 2012 to current year.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder and crest-stage gage. Datum of gage is 308.0 ft above North American Vertical Datum of 1988, from Level III GNSS static survey.  Satellite telemetry at station.  Prior to November 8, 2022, the datum was erroneously reported as 440 ft above National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929.
COOPERATION - Station established and maintained by the U.S. Geological Survey. Funding for the operation of this station is provided by the Reading Area Water Authority.
REMARKS - Records for water year 2014 are rated good except for those from April 30 to May 23, those for estimated daily discharges, and those for discharges greater than 3,300 cfs, which are poor. Records for water years 2015-2016 are rated good except for those for estimated daily discharges, which are poor. Records for water year 2017 are rated good except for those for estimated discharge, which is poor. Records for water years 2018 and 2020 are rated fair except for those for estimated discharge, which is poor. Records for water year 2019 are rated fair except for those discharges greater than 7000 cfs and those estimated discharge, which are poor. Records for water years 2021-2022 are rated good except for estimated discharge, which is poor.
