01480629 BUCK RUN AT DOE RUN, PA
LOCATION - Lat 39°55'46", long 75°49'24" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, Chester County, PA, Hydrologic Unit 02040205, 3,000 ft downstream of State Route 82, 500 ft upstream of bridge at Frog Hollow Road, 3.8 mi south of Coatesville.
DRAINAGE AREA - 22.6 mi².
REVISIONS HISTORY - Prior to March 17, 2022, the datum of gage was reported as 305.29 ft above National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929 (NGVD29)
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - January 2020 to current year
GAGE - Water-stage recorder, crest-stage gage, and water quality monitor. Datum of gage is 299.56 ft. above North American Vertical Datum of 1988, from single-base GNSS rapid static survey.  Satellite telemetry at station. Prior to March 17, 2022, the datum of gage was erroneously reported as 305.29 ft above National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929 (NGVD29)
COOPERATION - Station established and maintained by the U.S. Geological Survey. Funding for the operation of this station is provided by the U.S. Geological Survey -- Next Generation Water Observing System (NGWOS).
REMARKS - Records for water years 2020-2022 are fair except for estimated discharge, which is poor.
ECOLOGICAL RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - October 1973 to current year.
REMARKS - Samples were collected using a Hess sampler with a mesh size of 500 microns. Three samples were collected and composited.
WATER-QUALITY RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - Samples, October 1973 to current year. Continuous water temperature, February 2020 to current year.
COOPERATION - Station established and maintained by the U.S. Geological Survey with funding provided by the U.S. Geological Survey Next Generation Water Observing System(NGWOS) in cooperation with the Chester County Water Resources Authority.
INSTRUMENTATION - Water Temperature is collected on a 15-minute interval from a water-quality sonde interfaced with site telemetry.
REMARKS - Samples were collected as part of the Chester County Biological Monitoring project.
