LOCATION - Lat 40°03'19", long 75°43'00" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, Chester County, PA, Hydrologic Unit 02040205, on left bank 1,000 ft downstream from Marsh Creek Dam, 0.2 mi upstream from mouth, and 3.0 mi north of Downingtown.
DRAINAGE AREA - 20.3 mi².
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - June 1973 to current year.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder, crest-stage gage, and concrete control. Elevation of gage is 280 ft above National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929, from topographic map. Satellite telemetry at station.
COOPERATION - Station established and maintained by the U.S. Geological Survey in cooperation with the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection. Change in contents figures provided by Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection.
REMARKS - Flow completely regulated since November 1973 by Marsh Creek Reservoir (station 01480684).
Records for water years 2014-2015 are good. Records for water year 2016 are good with the exception of those for estimated daily discharges which are poor. Records for water year 2017 are good. Records for water year 2018 are good except those discharges less than 10 cfs, which are poor. Records for water years 2019-2022 are good except those discharges less than 10 cfs, those greater than 200 cfs, and those estimated discharges, which are poor.
