  • This is a tidal discharge station. Flow at this site is significantly affected by astronomical tides. Discharge is computed from relations between stage versus area and index-velocity versus mean channel velocity. The Godin low-pass filter is used to remove principal tidal frequencies from unit values. Daily mean discharges were computed from filtered unit value discharge data. Positive discharge is to the east towards the Delaware River and negative discharge is to the west towards the Chesapeake Bay. U.S. Geological Survey satellite data-collection platform at station.

EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum recorded elevation: 6.23 ft, October 29, 2021; Minimum recorded elevation: -4.86 ft, February 04, 2023. Maximum discharge (unfiltered): 126000ft³/s, January 10, 2024; Minimum discharge (unfiltered): -151000 ft³/s, October 27, 2021.
