LOCATION - Lat 40°59'38", long 76°26'25" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, Columbia County, PA, Hydrologic Unit 02050107, on right bank 50 ft. upstream from SR 487 bridge, in Bloomsburg.
DRAINAGE AREA - 10,560 mi².
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - March 1995 to March 1997 (operated as a crest-stage gage, partial-record station, annual maximum only); April 1997 to September 2010, stage only, not published; October 2010 to September 2014, stage-discharge; only discharge measurements published. October 2014 to present, continuous discharge site.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder and crest-stage gage. Datum of the gage is 450.64 ft above North American Vertical Datum of 1988. Prior to October 3, 2023, the datum of gage was reported as 451.37 ft above National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929.  Satellite telemetry at station.
COOPERATION - Station established and maintained by the U.S. Geological Survey. Funding for this station provided by the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection and the City of Bloomsburg.
REMARKS - Flow slightly regulated by 8 flood-control reservoirs, which have a combined capacity of 368,800 acre-ft. Maximum peak flow for period of continuous gage-height record was 320,000 cfs at a recorded gage-height of 32.75 ft on Sep 9, 2011.  Records are good except those for estimated discharge, which are poor. 
EXTREMES OUTSIDE PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum stage known prior to 1995, 31.20 ft, Jun 25, 1972, from floodmarks, discharge, about 350,000 ft³/s.
