  • Water-Year Summary reports summarize a year of hydrologic data in a printer-friendly format.
  • For water years 2014 onward, choose a water year and parameter and an on-demand Water-Year Summary report will be generated.
  • For water years 2006 through 2013, choose a water year and an Annual Water Data Report will be provided.
  • For water years 2005 and earlier, Annual Water Data Reports may be available in digital format.
  • Not all sites have reports available for every water year.

REVISIONS HISTORY - Revisions: Prior to January 23, 2023 the peak gage height on 11/08/1996 was incorrectly reported as 9.86 ft.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - October 1940 to current year.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder, crest-stage gage, and water-quality monitor. Datum of gage is 1026.6 ft above North American Vertical Datum of 1988 from benchmark.  Prior to June 24, 2024, the datum of gage was reported as 1,027.12 ft above National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929. Satellite and landline telemetry at station.
COOPERATION - Station established and maintained by the U.S. Geological Survey. Funding for this station is provided by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Baltimore District, the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection, and the U.S. Geological Survey.
REMARKS - Records are good except those for estimated discharge, which are poor.
EXTREMES OUTSIDE PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum stage known, about 14.0 ft, Mar 18, 1936, from information by local residents, discharge, about 20,000 ft³/s, from rating curve extended above 9,200 ft³/s on basis of slope-area measurement of peak flow.
WATER-QUALITY RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - November 2010 to current year.
PERIOD OF DAILY RECORD - WATER TEMPERATURE: November 2010 to current year. SPECIFIC CONDUCTANCE: November 2010 to current year. DISSOLVED OXYGEN: March 2011 to current year (seasonal). pH: March 2011 to current year (seasonal).
COOPERATION - Water-quality samples were collected as part of the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection Water-Quality Network (WQN) with cooperation from the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection.
INSTRUMENTATION - Water-quality monitor interfaced with a data collection platform with 15-minute recording interval.
REMARKS - As of October 2013, results from discrete water quality samples collected at this site are available through the U.S. Geological Survey National Water Information System web interface on the "Water Quality for the Nation" webpage. Occasionally, values for filtered parameters may exceed values for the corresponding unfiltered parameter. These results are within the limits of analytical precision and methods. Dissolved oxygen and pH data collection suspended during winter months. Cross-sectional water quality data is available upon request. Historically water temperatures below 0 degrees Celsius were not reported. Water temperature sensors now have the ability to accurately read water temperatures below 0 degrees Celsius. Subsequent to water year 2015, water temperatures below 0 degrees Celsius are reported.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF DAILY RECORD - WATER TEMPERATURE: Maximum, 32.1°C, Jul 22, 2011; minimum, -0.3°C, on many days during winter periods. SPECIFIC CONDUCTANCE: Maximum, 146 microsiemens/cm, Jan 28, 2013; minimum, 26 microsiemens/cm, Jan 31, 2018. DISSOLVED OXYGEN: Maximum, 14.9 mg/L Mar 29, 2015; minimum 5.8 mg/L, Jul 20, 2020. pH: Maximum, 9.1 std units, Jul 29, 2011; Jul 12 & 13, 2016; minimum, 6.3 std units, May 28 & 29, 2018.
