01573160 QUITTAPAHILLA CREEK NEAR BELLEGROVE, PA
LOCATION - Lat 40°20'33.4", long 76°33'42.8" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, Lebanon County, PA, Hydrologic Unit 02050305, on upstream side of bridge on Palmyra-Bellegrove Road (SR 4008), 0.7 mi downstream from Killinger Creek, and 1.8 mi south of Bellegrove.
DRAINAGE AREA - 74.2 mi².
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - Non-recording gage, October 2002 to September 2009. Continuous recording gage, October 1975 to September 1994, September 2012 to current year.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder and crest-stage gage. Datum of gage is 361.88 ft above National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929. Satellite telemetry at station.
COOPERATION - Station is maintained by the U.S. Geological Survey in cooperation with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
REMARKS - Slight regulation from quarry 0.7 mi upstream. Records for water years 2014-2023 are fair.
EXTREMES OUTSIDE PERIOD OF RECORD - The June 1972 flood reached a stage of 17.51 ft.
WATER-QUALITY RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - October 2006 to current year.
COOPERATION - Water-quality samples were collected as part of the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection Water-Quality Network (WQN) with cooperation from the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection.
REMARKS - As of October 2013, results from discrete water quality samples collected at this site are available through the U.S. Geological Survey National Water Information System web interface on the "Water Quality for the Nation" webpage. Analyses of pH, water temperature, specific conductance, and dissolved oxygen were performed on site. All other sample analyses were performed at the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection laboratory in Harrisburg, Pa. Occasionally, values for filtered parameters may exceed values for the corresponding unfiltered parameter. These results are within the limits of analytical precision and methods.
