LOCATION - Lat 39°15'18", long 77°34'36" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, Loudoun County, VA, Hydrologic Unit 02070008, on left bank, 30 feet downstream from bridge on State Highway 663 at Taylorstown and 3.2 miles downstream from Milltown Creek.
DRAINAGE AREA - 89.5 mi².
REVISIONS HISTORY - OFR 2006-1308: Drainage area.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - August 1971 to current year.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder. Datum of gage is 246.812 ±0.1 ft above NAVD 88. Prior to Nov. 3, 1983, at site 60 ft upstream at datum of 249.15 NGVD of 1929.
COOPERATION - Records were provided by the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality - Water Division.
REMARKS - Maximum discharge, 23,800 ft³/s, from rating curve extended above 7,400 ft³/s on basis of contracted-opening measurement of peak flow. Water-quality records for some prior periods have been collected at this location.
