LOCATION - Lat 38°16'50", long 78°20'25" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, Madison County, VA, Hydrologic Unit 02080103, on left bank 10 ft below bridge on US Highway 29, 0.2 miles downstream from Elk Run, 1.7 miles upstream from White Run, 2.1 miles downstream from South River, 3.6 miles northeast of Ruckersville, at mile 63.5.
DRAINAGE AREA - 115 mi².
REVISIONS HISTORY - WSP 1171: 1944-45(M). WSP 1382: 1943(M). OFR 2006-1308: Drainage area.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - September 1942 to June 1995, October 1998 to current year.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder. Datum of gage is 438.903 ± 0.1 ft NAVD 88.
COOPERATION - Records were provided by the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality - Water Division.
REMARKS - Diversion 0.4 mi upstream from station since 1973. Maximum discharge, 106,000 ft³/s, from rating curve extended above 8,700 ft³/s on basis of slope-area measurement of peak flow.
