SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - November 2007 to April 2013 (discontinued). September 2018 to current year.
GAGE - Satellite data collection platform with water-stage vented pressure, and acoustic Doppler velocity meter. Datum of gage North American Vertical datum of 1988 (NAVD 88) (Revised).
REMARKS - Records fair, except for days of estimated daily discharges, which are poor. Streamflow at this site is significantly affected by astronomical tides. Daily mean discharge was computed from filtered unit value discharge data. The Godin low-pass filter was used to remove principal tidal frequencies from unit values. Positive discharge (ebb tide) is generally to the southwest direction, and negative discharge (flood tide) to the northeast. Discharge and gage-height 15 minute data are available in the files of the U.S. Geological Survey. Published data can also be accessed online at http://sofia.usgs.gov/. Daily values of discharge and gage height are available online at http://waterdata.usgs.gov/nwis.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - DISCHARGE: Maximum positive discharge (unfiltered), 1,600 ft³/s Aug. 19, 2008; maximum negative (unfiltered), -565 ft³/s Sept. 28, 2022 (Hurricane Ian). GAGE HEIGHT: Maximum gage height, 8.07 ft Sept. 28, 2022 (from high water mark Hurricane Ian); minimum, -2.89 ft Jan. 21, 2008. See REVISED RECORDS.
