LOCATION - Lat 27°02'41.5", long 82°17'35.7" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, in sec.34, T.39 S., R.20 E., Sarasota County, FL, Hydrologic Unit 03100102, on upstream side of U.S. Highway 41 bridge over Myakka River, 2.5 mi west of North Port Charlotte, and 11.4 mi upstream from mouth.
DRAINAGE AREA - 358 mi².
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - March to September 2003 (maximum and minimum gage heights only); October 2003 to September 2005 (tidal high-high and low-low gage heights only); January 2007 to September 2011 (tidal high-high and low-low gage heights only); October 2011 to current year (maximum and minimum gage heights only).
GAGE - Water-stage recorder. Datum of gage is 0.09 ft below North American Vertical Datum of 1988.
COOPERATION - This gage is monitored in cooperation with Sarasota County.
REMARKS - Gage height at this site is significantly affected by astronomical tides. The extremes for periods published previously as tidal high-high and low-low gage heights are equivalent to maximum and minimum gage heights.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum gage height, 4.48 ft, Sep. 29, 2022; minimum, 3.34 ft below gage datum, Jan. 3, 2008.
