REVISIONS HISTORY - WDR-US-2009: WDR-US-2008 precipitation data.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - September 2000 to September 2003 (maximum and minimum gage heights only); October 2003 to September 2010 (tidal high-high and low-low gage heights only); October 2010 to current year (maximum and minimum gage heights only). Records of gage heights prior to October 2000 not published but are available in files of the Geological Survey.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder. Datum of gage is National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929.
COOPERATION - This gage is monitored in cooperation with Manatee County.
REMARKS - Gage height at this site is significantly affected by astronomical tides. The extremes for periods published previously as tidal high-high and low-low gage heights are equivalent to maximum and minimum gage heights.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum gage height, 19.72 ft, June 21, 2003 (from high water mark); minimum, 1.73 ft below NGVD 29, Mar. 27, 2006.
CLIMATOLOGICAL RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - March 2008 to current year.
REMARKS - Collection, computation and publication of precipitation data do not necessarily conform to standards used by the National Weather Service. Records of precipitation prior to March 2008 not published but are available in files of the Geological Survey.
WATER-QUALITY RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - December 2000 to current year.
COOPERATION - This gage is monitored in cooperation with Manatee County.
INSTRUMENTATION - Water-quality monitor consisting of specific conductance and temperature sensors located near the surface and near the bottom. The top sonde is located at a gage height of 2.0 ft below National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929 and the bottom sonde is located at a gage height of 6.5 ft below NGVD 29.
REMARKS - Top sensor comes out of water at times during extreme low tides.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - SPECIFIC CONDUCTANCE: Top sensor maximum, 18,400 microsiemens, June 7, 2017; bottom sensor maximum, 19,400 microsiemens, June 7, 2017; top sensor minimum, 49 microsiemens, Aug. 21, 2020, September 9, 2022; bottom sensor minimum, 49 microsiemens, Aug. 21, 2020. TEMPERATURE: Top sensor maximum, 34.0°C, Aug. 08, 12, 13, 2023; bottom sensor maximum, 34.0°C, Aug. 13, 2023; top sensor minimum, 8.7°C, Jan. 12, 2010; bottom sensor minimum, 8.8°C, Jan. 12, 2010.
