02301638 ALAFIA RIVER AT BELL SHOALS NEAR RIVERVIEW, FL.
LOCATION - Lat 27°51'31", long 82°16'26" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, in NE 1/4 sec.23, T.30 S., R.20 E., Hillsborough County, FL, Hydrologic Unit 03100204, on right bank, on wooden platform, 1,300 ft downstream from Bell Shoals bridge, 0.7 mi upstream from Bell Creek, 3.6 mi east of Riverview, and 10 mi upstream from mouth.
DRAINAGE AREA - 376 mi².
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - April 1998 to September 2003 (maximum and minimum gage heights only); October 2003 to September 2010 (tidal high-high and low-low gage heights only); October 2010 to May 2020 (maximum and minimum gage heights only) discontinued.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder. Datum of gage is National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929.
COOPERATION - This gage is monitored in cooperation with Tampa Bay Water.
REMARKS - Gage height at this site is significantly affected by astronomical tides. The extremes for periods published previously as tidal high-high and low-low gage heights are equivalent to maximum and minimum gage heights.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum gage height, 19.59 ft, Sept. 7, 2004; minimum, 0.76 ft below NGVD 29, May 31, June 2, 2000.
WATER-QUALITY RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - April 1998 to September 2015, incomplete (top and bottom temperature and specific conductance sensors). October 2015 to May 2020 (temperature and specific conductance sensor), discontinued.
COOPERATION - This gage is monitored in cooperation with Tampa Bay Water.
INSTRUMENTATION - Water-quality monitor consisting of specific conductance and temperature sensor located at a gage height of 1.9 ft below NGVD 29.
