LOCATION - Lat 28°31'15", long 82°12'34" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, in NE 1/4 sec.04, T.23 S., R.21 E., Hernando County, FL, Hydrologic Unit 03100208, on right bank, 0.5 mi downstream from State Highway 50, 0.6 mi east of Rital, and 83 mi upstream from mouth.
DRAINAGE AREA - 629 mi².
REVISIONS HISTORY -

Datum of gage for 2007 WY - 2017 WY was published in error as North American Vertical Datum of 1988.

The maximum gage height for the 2004 water year, and maximum gage height and discharge for the 2018 water year, were published in error and revised on Feb. 20, 2025. 

Peak gage height and discharge for the 2013 WY was revised on June 27, 2025 to enter the missing values.

SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - April 1981 to July 1981 (discharge measurements only); March 2004 to current year.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder and data-collection platform. Datum of gage is 2.04 ft below North American Vertical Datum of 1988. Prior to Oct. 1, 2006 at datum 1.62 ft lower.
COOPERATION - This gage is monitored in cooperation with the Southwest Florida Water Management District.
