LOCATION - Lat 28°35'33", long 82°13'20" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, in NE 1/4 sec.08, T.22 S., R.21 E., Hernando County, FL, Hydrologic Unit 03100208, on left bank at upstream side of abandoned highway bridge, 0.4 mi northwest of Croom, 2.3 mi downstream from Little Withlacoochee River, 4.5 mi southeast of Nobleton, and 77 mi upstream from mouth.
DRAINAGE AREA - 810 mi².

GAGE - Water-stage recorder and data-collection platform. Datum of gage is 38.94 ft above NGVD of 1929. Prior to Feb. 2, 1940, nonrecording gage at railroad bridge 500 ft upstream at same datum.
COOPERATION - This gage is monitored in cooperation with the Southwest Florida Water Management District.
EXTREMES OUTSIDE PERIOD OF RECORD - Flood in June 1934 reached a stage of 15.2 ft, from floodmark, discharge not determined.
