LOCATION - Lat 29°57'20", long 82°55'40" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, in NE 1/4 sec.20, T.6 S., R.14 E., Suwannee County, FL, Hydrologic Unit 03110205, near left bank on downstream side of bridge on U.S. Highway 27 at Branford, 10.2 mi upstream from Santa Fe River, and 75 mi upstream from mouth.
DRAINAGE AREA - 7,880 mi². Includes part of watershed in Okefenokee Swamp which is indeterminate.
REVISIONS HISTORY - WSP 1905: WDR FL-75-1: Drainage area. WDR FL-96-4:1995.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS

GAGE - Water-stage recorder and data-collection platform. Datum of gage is 4.81 ft above National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929.
EXTREMES OUTSIDE PERIOD OF RECORD - Flood of August 1928 reached a stage of 32.0 ft, from floodmark; discharge, 65,000 ft³/s computed on basis of measured crest flow at Ellaville (station 02319500).
