LOCATION - Lat 31°02'25", long 84°44'24" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, Decatur County, GA, Hydrologic Unit 03130010, located on top of the right of way bank at the downstream right end of the Lane Bridge Road, 1.5 miles downstream from Aycock Creek, 1.5 miles upstream from Dry Creek, 5.0 miles north of Brinson, and 5.5 miles northeast of Iron City.

GAGE-HEIGHT: October 1998 to current year.
GAGE - Satellite telemetry with a water-stage recorder. Datum of gage is 85.3 feet above the North American Vertical Datum (NAVD) of 1988. From October 21, 1920 to June 30, 1921, a non-recording gage was located at site 125 feet upstream at different datum. From June 11, 1937 to October 17, 1952, a non-recording gage was located at site 125 feet upstream at present datum. From October 18, 1952 to April 1971, a recording gage was located at same site and datum as present. From May 1971 to December 1976, a non-recording gage was located at same site and datum as present.

EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge recorded, 34,500 cfs, from rating curve extended above 21,000 cfs on basis of flow-over-road measurement of peak flow, March 10, 1998; maximum gage-height recorded, 24.40 feet, from floodmarks, March 10, 1998; minimum daily discharge, no flow, many summer days during 2000, 2001, 2007, 2011, and 2012 water years.
