02391540 SHARP MOUNTAIN CREEK AT OLD GA 5, BELOW BALLGROUND, GA
LOCATION - Lat 34°18'39.2", long 84°24'12.5" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, Cherokee County, GA, Hydrologic Unit 03150104, 0.9 miles upstream of the confluence with the Etowah River, and 2.4 miles southwest of Ballground.
DRAINAGE AREA - 73.2 mi².
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD -
DISCHARGE: July 2004 to August 2005 (discrete discharge measurements only), September 2005 to current year.
GAGE HEIGHT: September 2005 to current year.
GAGE - Satellite telemetry with a water-stage recorder. Datum of gage is 891.32 feet above North American Vertical Datum (NAVD) of 1988 (leveling by Global Navigation Satellite System equipment using GEOID12A).
COOPERATION - U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Mobile District.
REMARKS - Gage-height records are generally good. Discharge records are generally fair except for estimated discharges, which are poor.  Additional details on the accuracy of the records can be obtained by contacting the USGS South Atlantic Water Science Center at gs-w-ga_nwisweb_data_inquiries@usgs.gov.
