03028500 CLARION RIVER AT JOHNSONBURG, PA
LOCATION - Lat 41°29'10", long 78°40'43" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, Elk County, PA, Hydrologic Unit 05010005, on left bank at upstream side of highway bridge at Johnsonburg, 0.1 mi downstream from confluence of East and West Branches.
DRAINAGE AREA - 204 mi².
REVISIONS HISTORY - Revisions: Gage height, discharge measurements, and discharge for the period Jan 12, 2018, to May 30, 2018, were revised on Mar 29, 2019, based on changes to gage height corrections, which affected discharge measurements 617-619, and computed discharge for the period.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - 1945-1995 (continuous-record discharge station), 1996 to 2013 (annual peaks only), 2014 to current year (continuous-record discharge station).
GAGE - Water-stage recorder, crest-stage gage, and water-quality monitor. Datum of gage is 1,423.03 ft above National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929. Prior to Nov. 8, 1951, non-recording gage at same site and datum. Satellite telemetry at station.
COOPERATION - Station established and maintained by the U.S. Geological Survey in cooperation with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Pittsburgh District.
REMARKS - Flow regulated since June 1952 by East Branch Clarion River Lake 7.9 mi upstream and at low flow by industrial plants above station. Records are good except those for estimated discharge, which are poor. 
WATER-QUALITY RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - October 1, 2013 to current year.
PERIOD OF DAILY RECORD - Water Temperature-October, 2013 to current year.
INSTRUMENTATION - Water temperature probe, anchored to streambed, since November, 2008.
REMARKS - Historically, water temperatures below 0 degrees Celsius were not reported. Water temperature sensors now have the ability to accurately read water temperatures below 0 degrees Celsius. Cross-sectional water quality data is available upon request. Interruptions in the record were due to equipment malfunctions or erroneous data.
