LOCATION - Lat 40°34'21", long 79°06'13" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, Indiana County, PA, Hydrologic Unit 05010007, on left bank 0.3 mi upstream from Central Indiana County Water Authority dam, 0.4 mi upstream from diverted outflow from Ferrier Run, and 3.5 mi northeast of Homer City.
DRAINAGE AREA - 57.4 mi². excludes that of Ferrier Run.

Revisions: Prior to December 14, 2023, the datum of gage was reported as 1.140 ft above North American Vertical Datum of 1929.

SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - October 1967 to current year.
GAGE -

Water-stage recorder. Elevation of gage is 1,136.9 ft above North American Vertical Datum of 1988.  Prior to December 14, 2023, the datum of gage was erroneously reported as 1,140 ft above National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929. Satellite telemetry at station.

COOPERATION - Station established and maintained by the U.S. Geological Survey. Funding for the operation of this station is provided by the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection and the U.S. Geological Survey.
REMARKS - Flow regulated since July 1971 by Yellow Creek Lake (station 03042260), 4.2 mi upstream. Since November, 2004, during high flows only, Ferrier Run discharges into Yellow Creek upstream from gage and is not diverted to outflow pipe located 0.4 mi downstream from gage. Records are good except those for estimated daily discharges, which are poor.
