03284000 KENTUCKY RIVER AT LOCK 10 NEAR WINCHESTER, KY
LOCATION - Lat 37°53'38", long 84°15'38" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, Madison County, KY, Hydrologic Unit 05100205, on right bank at Lock 10, 0.9 miles downstream from Otter Creek, 8.0 miles southwest of Winchester, and at mile 176.4.
DRAINAGE AREA - 3,955 mi².
REVISIONS HISTORY - WSP 1275: 1908-52. 1955: Drainage area.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - October 1907 to current year.
GAGE - Fixed weir dam with water-stage recorder/telemetry, full range of staffs, and crest stage gage. Datum is 556.10 feet above NAVD of 1988 and 556.76 ft above NGVD of 1929.  February 2, 1940 to August 10, 1943, water-stage recorder 1.1 miles upstream at different datum. August 11, 1943 to June 12, 1978, nonrecording gage at present site and datum.
COOPERATION - Kentucky River Authority and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Louisville District.
REMARKS -

Flow regulated since December 1960 by Buckhorn Lake (station 03280800), since January 1976 by Carr Fork Lake (station 03277446).

EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum gage height 40.15 ft. on December 10, 1978; maximum discharge 101000 ft³/s on December 10, 1978. Lowest daily mean discharge 22 ft³/s on October 1, 1999.
