LOCATION - Lat 46°03'31", long 88°37'38" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, in SE 1/4 SW 1/4 sec.01, T.42 N., R.35 W., Iron County, MI, Hydrologic Unit 04030106, on right bank 10 ft downstream from bridge on County Highway 424 in Caspian, and 5.0 mi upstream from mouth.
DRAINAGE AREA - 92.1 mi².
REVISIONS HISTORY - WSP 1911: Drainage area.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - March 1948 to September 1980, October 2004 to current year.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder and crest-stage gage. Datum of gage is 1,438.70 ft above NAVD 88, converted on July 9, 2020 from NGVD 29. Prior to Sept. 25, 1969, nonrecording gage, and Sept. 25, 1969 to Sept. 30, 1980, water-stage recorder at datum 0.08 ft higher.
REMARKS - Prior to August 1978, the average flow includes mine pumpage and sewage effluent.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge, 1,430 ft³/s, July 2, 1953, gage height, 10.20 ft; minimum discharge, 25 ft³/s, Mar. 29, 1969, result of freeze-up.
