LOCATION - Lat 42°36'52", long 83°01'36" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, in NE 1/4 SW 1/4 sec.03, T.2 N., R.12 E., Macomb County, MI, Hydrologic Unit 04090003, on right bank at downstream side of bridge on Riverland Road in Sterling Heights.
DRAINAGE AREA - 309 mi².
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - October 1978 to December 1982, March 1996 to May 1998, July 2001 to current year.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder and crest-stage gage. Datum of gage is 600.06 ft above NAVD88.
REMARKS - Flow since the 1960's has been augmented by effluent from municipal sewage-treatment plants and cooling water from industrial plants, most of which originates from sources outside the basin.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge, 4,600 ft³/s, May 23, 2004, gage height, 16.51 ft, from rating curve extended above 2,300 ft³/s; minimum discharge, 26 ft³/s, Sept. 29, 2003.
