LOCATION - Lat 42°34'40", long 82°57'06" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, in SE 1/4 NE 1/4 sec.19, T.2 N., R.13 E., Macomb County, MI, Hydrologic Unit 04090003, on right bank 50 ft downstream from bridge on Garfield Road, 2.8 mi north of Fraser, and 4.0 mi upstream from North Branch.
DRAINAGE AREA - 444 mi².
REVISIONS HISTORY - WSP 2112: Drainage area.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - May 1947 to current year.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder. Datum of gage is 577.21 ft above NAVD 88, converted on July 9, 2020 from NGVD 29 (Macomb County bench mark). Prior to Nov. 17, 1949, and from May 29 to July 31, 1990, nonrecording gage at same site and datum. Nov. 17, 1949 to Apr. 5, 1990, water-stage recorder at site 800 ft downstream at same datum.
REMARKS - Flow since the 1960's has been augmented by effluent from municipal sewage-treatment plants and cooling water from industrial plants, most of which originates from sources outside the basin.
EXTREMES OUTSIDE PERIOD OF RECORD - Flood of Apr. 5 or 6, 1947, reached a stage of 20 ft (from floodmark) and discharge of approximately 9,000 ft³/s.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge, 12,300 ft³/s, Aug. 12, 2014, gage height, 20.84 ft; minimum discharge, 47 ft³/s, Sept. 6, 1955.
